Role Description The Senior Security Operations Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents across onsemi’s global infrastructure. This full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru South involves operating and tuning security tools, investigating alerts, performing root cause analysis, and recommending remediation actions to reduce risk. The role includes developing and maintaining security operations playbooks, collaborating with IT and engineering teams to strengthen defenses, and supporting threat hunting activities to identify emerging risks. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement of security processes, assist with security reporting and metrics, and help ensure alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in security operations, including monitoring, incident detection, triage, and response in a SOC or similar environment.
- Proficiency with common security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management solutions, log management systems).
- Solid understanding of network security, operating system security (Windows, Linux), and cloud security fundamentals.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK) and familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and document findings and procedures clearly.
- Hands-on experience with scripting or automation (such as Python, PowerShell, or similar) to streamline security operations is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC, or similar) are a plus.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead security operations role and exposure to large-scale enterprise or industrial environments is advantageous.
