How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
As a
Senior SDET in the Delta.com & Content team, you will engineer the quality of Delta’s primary customer-facing digital channels. You will work across UI, API, microservices, DevOps pipelines, and AI‑assisted engineering tools to ensure world-class reliability and customer experience. This is a
senior individual-contributor role with strong hands-on ownership and no people-management responsibilities.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and backend microservices.
- Enhance and evolve modern, scalable automation frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, UX, product, and architecture teams to embed quality from design to deployment.
- Review code and contribute to technical discussions emphasizing testability and reliability.
- Build reusable utilities, libraries, and internal tooling to improve automation efficiency.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems and cloud environments.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with strong quality gates.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Amazon Q to:
- Generate test cases and automation scaffolding
- Expand coverage for edge cases and negative scenarios
- Refactor automation code
- Enhance documentation and readability
- Apply Prompt Engineering to craft precise, structured prompts that improve test generation, debugging workflows, and test data creation.
- Use AI-driven log analysis, anomaly detection, and visual validation capabilities to identify defects early.
- Create reusable prompt templates for consistent, scalable AI-driven test workflows.
- Actively contribute in Agile ceremonies and promote engineering excellence within the team.
Technical Competencies
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience as an SDET or in Software Quality Engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with solid OOP foundations.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured.
- Strong SQL or NoSQL database knowledge.
- Experience testing and automating RESTful services using Postman, REST Assured, ReadyAPI, Cypress, etc.
- Experience generating detailed test reports using tools such as Cucumber, Allure, or Extent Reports.
- Strong knowledge of Prompt Engineering and the ability to leverage GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q) for testing workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based source control systems.
- Experience working in Agile environments.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, CodePipeline, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk.
- Airline or travel domain experience.
- Strong understanding of BDD/TDD methodologies using Gherkin syntax.
- Experience building modular automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM), Screenplay, Factory, or similar patterns.
- Exposure to AI-driven testing accelerators such as visual AI validation, self-healing locators, or autonomous regression optimization.
- Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
- Experience using GitHub, GitLab, or AWS CodeCommit for version control.
