Senior Scrum Master
Job Description Summary
You will support reliable and timely delivery within feature teams by helping remove barriers, keeping delivery visible, facilitating team and train ceremonies, and encouraging ongoing improvements within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). You bring relevant knowledge in your discipline, understand how your work supports the wider business, and can operate autonomously with support for complex situations. You will also guide colleagues, contribute to decision‑making, identify dependencies, propose improvements, and take accountability for your commitments and shared team outcomes.
Summary Of The Role
You’ll help teams deliver work predictably by identifying and resolving obstacles, maintaining visibility on progress, and facilitating ceremonies within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). You bring relevant knowledge of your functional area and understand how your work connects to organizational goals. You work autonomously with support for complex matters, contribute to shared solutions, guide less‑experienced colleagues, and help improve ways of working across teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Support predictable and high‑quality delivery by maintaining visibility of progress, helping resolve impediments, and promoting consistent engineering practices.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies across team and train levels — including Sprint Planning, Daily Syncs, Reviews, Retrospectives, Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demos, and Agile Release Train (ART) syncs — ensuring alignment and productive collaboration.
- Promote continuous improvement by encouraging feedback loops, assessing team agility, and guiding practical actions that strengthen team practices and collaboration.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Management to prepare backlogs, clarify intent, and ensure shared understanding of priorities.
- Support cross‑team collaboration and learning by coordinating on risks and dependencies, contributing to Communities of Practice, and helping teams adopt effective and inclusive ways of working.
About The Ideal Candidate
- You have relevant experience in Agile delivery (typically 10+ years) and familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- You bring strong skills in team facilitation, collaborative problem‑solving, and communication across diverse stakeholders.
- You can work autonomously within agreed plans, with support for complex challenges.
- You can guide and support less‑experienced colleagues while contributing to shared decision‑making and process improvements.
- You are comfortable identifying dependencies, anticipating impacts, and contributing to cross‑team coordination.
