Aditya Birla Science and Technology Company Ltd is looking for a passionate and driven Senior Scientist to join the Materials & Process Engineering team at Taloja.
This role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact R&D projects focused on clinker manufacturing, cement process optimization, high-temperature materials, and plant-scale problem solving while closely partnering with manufacturing and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute R&D projects related to clinker manufacturing and high-temperature materials
- Drive process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives
- Work closely with plant teams to diagnose operational challenges and implement solutions
- Translate plant problems into lab and pilot-scale experimental programs
- Conduct advanced material characterization and data interpretation
- Develop SOPs, technical frameworks, and project reports
- Contribute towards patents, technical papers, and knowledge creation initiatives
- Mentor junior scientists and build technical capability within the team
Desired Profile
- PhD or master’s degree in Cement Chemistry, Ceramics, Materials Science, or related disciplines
- PhD 1-2 Years & M. Tech 2-4 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong understanding of clinker manufacturing, kiln processes, calcination, sintering, or refractory systems
- Hands-on experience in lab-to-plant scale experimentation
- Exposure to characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM/EDS, TGA/DSC, calorimetry, etc.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation skills & command on MS Office.
- Prior experience in construction materials or cement industry will be an added advantage
