Role Outline This Senior Scientist in Cancer Multi-omics & Precision Medicine role is a full-time position based in Chennai with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. The individual in this role will design and lead multi-omics studies in oncology, integrating genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and clinical data to develop novel diagnostic and prognostic assays. Daily responsibilities include planning experimental workflows, supervising lab-based sample processing and data generation, and collaborating with bioinformatics teams to analyze complex datasets. The Senior Scientist will translate research findings into clinically relevant precision medicine solutions, prepare scientific reports and publications, and contribute to regulatory and validation documentation. This role also involves mentoring junior scientists, coordinating with cross-functional teams (R&D, product, clinical partners), and presenting results to internal stakeholders, advisors, and external collaborators.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Senior Scientist in Cancer Genomics & Precision Oncology, you will typically be having a variety of very important responsibilities, including:
Research:
· Design and perform appropriate molecular biology techniques and sequencing experiments to identify and assess novel biomarkers and develop multi-biomarkers assays for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, & therapy response prediction.
· Developing, optimizing, and validating new bio-molecular assays.
· Be well-versed in the current state of the science of functional genomics and omics analysis to advance translational research in oncology projects.
· In-Depth Investigation of transcriptomics and epigenetics basis of cancers, including aberrant DNA methylations, non-coding RNAs etc.
· Exploring the genetics of early-onset and familial/hereditary cancers.
· Studying the tumor microenvironment, immune regulation, and identifying novel bio-molecular targets.
Collaborations:
- Initiate and/or maintain collaborations with the cross-functional teams including Wet-Lab Bench Scientists, in-vitro & in-vivo team, Bioinformaticians, Computer Scientists & the assigned scientists, doctors, physicians in the external collaborative/partner organizations, and/or collaborative/partner institutions to ensure alignment on the scientific rationales, research methodologies with the goals of the company and to ensure smooth data generation workflows.
Communication:
· Effectively communicate the hypotheses, work plans and data generated including in both oral and written communications
- Communicate clearly on the experimental and clinical results and generate meaningful, actionable reports
- Strong scientific communication skills for writing protocols, reports, publications, and presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Training:
- Guide junior colleagues on established methodologies, and troubleshooting assays and establish novel techniques/ assays.
- May mentor/supervise one or more junior scientists and laboratory technologists.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Develop relevant pipelines for precise interpretation of multi-omics data, generated by sequencing.
- Use appropriate software to analyze and interpret multi-omics data generated by sequencing, and generate meaningful reports on the results.
Documentations:
- Properly maintain the documentations of all the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) of various assays and experiments including for the novel techniques and newly developed assays.
- Properly maintain the data of all the samples of clinical genomics sequencing, including the reports in a properly organized manner.
Participation:
- Opportunities will be provided to actively take part on continuing educational & skill enhancement activities as well as to conduct various external training sessions
- Opportunities will also be provided for various paper publications on high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Reporting To: Senior Management
Qualification/ Experience Required: PhD/Post Doc with Upto 3years Experience handling Multi-Omics Cancer Research.
Gender Preference: None.
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in cancer biology, molecular oncology, with demonstrated experience in translational research with multi-omics approaches (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenomics) relevant to diagnostics & clinical assay development.
- Hands-on experience with advanced laboratory techniques such as NGS library preparation, PCR/qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, sample QC, and handling of clinical specimens.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data interpretation, and collaboration with bioinformatics for analysis of high-throughput multi-omics datasets.
- Experience in managing research projects, possess mentoring capabilities to mentor/ guiding junior team members, and working in cross-functional environments that include clinicians, product managers, and operations personnel.
- Familiarity with quality systems, clinical validation, and regulatory considerations for diagnostic tests (e.g., CLIA-like guidelines, ISO, or equivalent frameworks).
- Excellent scientific communication skills, including preparation of reports, presentations, publications, and contributions to grant or investor materials.
- Ability to work effectively in a startup environment, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative approach in a hybrid on-site/remote setting
- PhD/ Post Doc in Molecular Oncology, Cancer Biology, Genomics,, or related field, with substantial postdoctoral or industry experience in oncology and multi-omics will be highly beneficial; exceptional candidates with strong experience may be considered.
