Role Description The Senior SAP Transportation Management Consultant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The consultant will lead SAP TM solution design, configuration, and implementation for transportation planning, execution, and freight settlement processes. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing business requirements, mapping them to SAP TM functionality, and preparing functional specifications and documentation. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, and finance, to integrate SAP TM with other SAP modules and external systems. The consultant will support testing, user training, and post-go-live stabilization, while providing advisory input on process optimization and best practices. The position also includes mentoring junior team members and participating in client workshops, status reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to assess complex transportation scenarios, interpret data, and recommend effective SAP TM solutions.
- Candidates should possess Management Consulting and Consulting skills to collaborate with stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and translate business needs into system designs.
- Candidates should possess Finance and Business Process knowledge to align transportation processes with costing, billing, and overall enterprise workflows.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Transportation Management (planning, execution, charge management, freight settlement) and integration with core SAP modules such as SAP SD, MM, and LE.
- Proven experience in at least one full-cycle SAP TM implementation, including requirement gathering, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and business users in on-site client environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant SAP certifications in Transportation Management or Supply Chain are an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and mentor junior consultants in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
