About the Technology Function:
By joining the Technology team in the GCC you will play a direct role in Officeworks’ global digital transformation, contributing to world-class SAP and Salesforce capabilities that sit at the heart of how the business operates and grows. The GCC will support Officeworks’ purpose of helping to bring big ideas to life at low prices, ensuring technology remains a true enabler of customer value and operational excellence.

Why this role exists:
The SAP BDC Developer designs, builds, and optimizes enterprise data models and pipelines using SAP Datasphere (BDC) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). This role integrates SAP and non-SAP data sources to enable trusted, real-time analytics. This role acts as a specialist owner of the semantic layer and data pipelines, enabling business decision-making aligned to the enterprise data strategy.

In this role you will:
Data Engineering & Analytics Delivery:
- Build scalable and reusable data models in SAP Datasphere to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Develop SAC dashboards, planning models, and reports aligned to business KPIs.
- Maintain and optimize data pipelines to ensure near real-time data availability where required.
- Integrate diverse data sources, including S/4HANA, Salesforce, and Snowflake, into a unified semantic layer.
- Achieve key performance indicators related to data accuracy, query performance, and sprint commitments.
Governance, Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure high data quality and accuracy by aligning all builds to enterprise data governance standards.
- Maintain documentation and vendor engagement in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Ensure requirements and documentation comply with established governance and security standards.
- Perform post-deployment validation to minimize defects and ensure reporting reliability.
Safety & Personal Leadership:
- Demonstrate a strong sense of personal accountability for data accuracy and reporting quality.
- Identify and report site hazards or incidents to support a safe working environment for everyone.
Who you will be working with:
- Internal Technical Teams: SAP BTP Administrator, Integration Developers, SAP Developers, Data Governance, and Integration Teams.
- Internal Business Partners: Process Analysts, Functional Analysts, and Business Stakeholders.
- External Partners: SAP and Development Partners.
What success looks like:
- Data Integrity: Achieving 98% data accuracy and a 99.5% load success rate.
- Performance: Optimizing queries to execute within 3–5 seconds with 95% compliant models.
- Delivery Reliability: Meeting 90% of sprint commitments with 5% post-release defects.
- Business Value: Driving 75% dashboard adoption and a 30% reduction in manual reporting processes.

Qualifications and work experience:
Essential:
- Education: Degree in I.T., Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 8 years of experience in SAP data engineering, specifically including Datasphere/BDC and SAC.
- Specialist Skills: Expertise in data modelling, warehousing, SQL, and HANA.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of SAC reporting/planning and SAP data structures.
- Technology Proficiency: SAP Datasphere, SAC, SQL, CPI, Snowflake, S/4HANA, BTP, and CI/CD Toolchains.
