Position : Senior SAP Basis & SAP BTP Administrator
Location : Visakhapatnam
Duration : Permanent.
We are seeking a Senior SAP BASIS Administrator with over 8 years of hands-on experience to join our core infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in managing complex SAP landscapes, specifically excelling in large-scale SAP Upgrades and migrations across both Oracle and HANA database environments. Any experience with other databases is an added advantage for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Upgrades & Lifecycle Management:
Lead end-to-end SAP technical upgrades (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Portal) including Enhancement Pack (EHP) installations and OS/DB migrations.
Manage the full lifecycle of software maintenance using SUM (Software Update Manager) and Maintenance Planner.
Database Administration: Good Knowledge in management of SAP HANA (MDC, replication, health checks) and Oracle Databases and upgrading of databases.
Core Basis Support & Administration
- Daily Operations: Oversee system monitoring (CCMS), background job management, and spool administration to ensure 24/7 system availability.
- Change Management: Maintain a robust Transport Management System (TMS) and handle complex transport landscapes.
- System Refreshes: Execute end-to-end system copies and refreshes (HANA/Oracle) to keep QA and Development environments synchronized with Production.
- Client Management: Perform client creates, copies, and deletions, ensuring data integrity across the landscape.
- Patching: Manage proactive patching strategies using SNOTE, SPAM, and SAINT to mitigate security risks and functional bugs.
Performance & Troubleshooting
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform deep-dive troubleshooting of work process bottlenecks, memory dumps (ST22), and lock entries (SM12).
- Optimization: Proactively monitor and tune SAP buffers, SQL performance, and expensive queries to maintain peak efficiency.
Required Technical Skill Set
- Experience: 8+ years of dedicated SAP BASIS/NetWeaver experience in enterprise environments.
- Databases: Proficiency in HANA 2.0 and Oracle 12c/19c. Experience with HANA System Replication (HSR) is a must.
- Platforms: Strong command of Linux (RHEL/SUSE); familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a significant plus.
- Tools: Expert knowledge of SAP Maintenance Planner, SUM (Software Update Manager), SWPM, and SAP Solution Manager 7.2.
- Troubleshooting: Exceptional analytical skills to resolve complex work process hangs, memory bottlenecks, and network latency issues.
