About the Role
Tulip Couture is looking for an experienced, well-connected, and result-oriented Senior Sales Manager to grow our hand embroidery, couture fabric, appliqué, trim, and bridal embellishment business.
The candidate will be responsible for developing new buyers, maintaining relationships with existing clients, generating sales enquiries, following up on developments, coordinating with internal teams, and helping expand Tulip Couture’s business in domestic and international markets.
This role is ideal for someone who understands fashion, textiles, embroidery, bridal wear, couture, luxury fabrics, or export sales and can independently handle buyer communication and business development.
Please note: This role involves regular international travel of up to 150 days in a year for buyer meetings, exhibitions, market visits, and business development. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent overseas travel.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and approach new potential buyers, designers, fashion houses, bridal brands, couture labels, buying houses, fabric stores, exporters, and international clients.
- Develop new business opportunities for hand-embroidered fabrics, laces, trims, appliqués, panels, belts, and custom embroidery products.
- Generate regular enquiries and convert them into sampling, development, and production orders.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline for both domestic and export markets.
- Follow up with prospective buyers regularly and maintain long-term business relationships.
Existing Buyer Management
- Maintain relationships with existing and old buyers.
- Reconnect with inactive clients and explore fresh opportunities for new developments and repeat orders.
- Understand buyer requirements and coordinate internally for design suggestions, sample selections, quotations, and timelines.
- Ensure buyers receive timely responses, images, catalogues, samples, prices, and order updates.
Buyer Communication & Follow-up
- Handle professional communication with buyers through email, WhatsApp, phone, and meetings.
- Share company profile, product images, collection details, price indications, and sample options with buyers.
- Follow up on enquiries, sample approvals, pending decisions, quotations, and orders.
- Maintain clear records of all buyer communication and next steps.
Product Presentation & Collection Selling
- Present Tulip Couture’s collection to buyers during office visits, online meetings, exhibitions, and trade fairs.
- Understand buyer taste and suggest suitable designs from the existing collection.
- Coordinate with the design and sampling team for buyer-specific developments.
- Help create product presentations, buyer-specific assortments, and curated design selections.
International Travel & Market Development
- Travel internationally for buyer meetings, exhibitions, trade fairs, and business development visits.
- Spend up to 150 days in a year travelling for business, depending on company requirements.
- Represent Tulip Couture professionally in international markets.
- Meet existing and prospective buyers during overseas visits.
- Research and develop new markets, fashion brands, designers, bridal houses, agents, and buying houses.
- Follow up with all leads generated during international trips and exhibitions.
Coordination with Internal Teams
- Work closely with design, sampling, merchandising, production, and management teams.
- Share clear buyer briefs and development requirements with the internal team.
- Coordinate for sample readiness, pricing, production feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure smooth handover from sales enquiry to sampling and production teams.
Pricing & Negotiation
- Coordinate with management for pricing, commercial terms, and order feasibility.
- Negotiate with buyers professionally while protecting company margins.
- Follow up for order confirmation, advance payments, and required approvals.
- Maintain records of prices quoted, buyer feedback, and final agreed terms.
Exhibition & Market Development
- Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, buyer meetings, and market visits.
- Collect and maintain visitor data from exhibitions.
- Follow up with exhibition leads and convert them into active business opportunities.
- Support management in planning market visits, buyer meetings, and business development campaigns.
Reporting & MIS
- Maintain daily and weekly sales reports.
- Track new enquiries, active leads, sample requests, quotations, order status, and follow-ups.
- Prepare buyer-wise reports and sales pipeline updates for management.
- Maintain a database of buyers, designers, agents, and prospects.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in sales, business development, or merchandising, preferably in textiles, embroidery, fashion fabrics, garments, bridal wear, couture, or export business.
- Experience in hand embroidery, luxury fabrics, bridal/couture brands, appliqués, trims, or embellishments will be strongly preferred.
- Must be comfortable with regular international travel of up to 150 days in a year.
- Should have strong buyer communication and follow-up skills.
- Should be confident in approaching new clients and developing business independently.
- Good understanding of fashion, textiles, embroidery, and premium/luxury product positioning.
- Should be comfortable handling domestic and international buyers.
- Good written and spoken English is required.
- Basic Excel knowledge is required for reports and buyer data.
- Should be proactive, presentable, target-oriented, and disciplined.
- Prior network with designers, bridal brands, exporters, buying houses, or fashion labels will be an added advantage.
