Sales Manager — Refractory/Insulation

About the role
We are looking for a field-based sales engineer to drive adoption of Lanexis Refractory and Insulation solutions across steel/aluminum plants, and heavy industries in the Jharsuguda and surrounding Odisha belt.
The role involves regular plant visits, technical demonstrations, follow-up with plant maintenance and procurement teams, and systematic pre/post data collection to prove product performance.
This is a hands-on field role — not a desk job. You will be expected to be on plant floors, in maintenance shutdowns, and in front of engineers regularly.
Key responsibilities
Visit and develop relationships at steel/aluminum plants, and other heavy industries in the Jharsuguda, Raigarh, Sambalpur, and surrounding regions.
Demonstrate and apply Lanexis refractory coating products on-site during plant maintenance windows.
Collect pre-application data: lining condition, surface temperature, thickness readings, wear patterns.
Collect post-application data at agreed intervals: lining performance, temperature profiles, durability vs. baseline.
Prepare and present technical reports comparing pre/post results to plant engineers and procurement managers.
Build a sustained sales funnel — identify prospects, conduct trials, close repeat orders, and grow accounts.
Coordinate with the backend technical team for customized coating recommendations per application.
Candidate requirements
minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in refractory installation, maintenance, QA/QC, or technical sales.
Existing familiarity with plants in the Jharsuguda belt — Vedanta Aluminium, JSPL, SAIL, or similar.
Understanding of refractory lining wear, surface preparation, and thermal behavior.
Comfortable using measurement tools: pyrometers, thickness gauges, and basic data loggers.
Strong interpersonal skills — able to communicate with plant engineers, maintenance supervisors, and procurement heads.
Willing and able to travel daily/weekly across plant sites in the region.
Diploma or degree in mechanical, metallurgy, or ceramic engineering preferred. Equivalent field experience considered. Existing contact network at major metal plants will be preferred .
