Role Description
The Senior Sales Associate is a trusted client advisor at Carat Years — equal parts product expert and relationship builder. This role is responsible for guiding customers through one of the most meaningful purchase decisions of their lives, from engagement rings to anniversary gifts, with the care, knowledge, and elegance our brand promises.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Sales
◆ Welcome and engage clients, understand their occasion, preference, and budget through thoughtful conversation.
◆ Present lab-grown diamond jewellery with confidence — explaining 4Cs, IGI/GIA certification, metal options, and setting styles.
◆ Drive cross-selling and upselling naturally, enhancing the client's selection without pressure.
◆ Achieve individual monthly sales targets and contribute to showroom revenue goals.
Product Knowledge
◆ Maintain deep familiarity with the full Carat Years catalogue including current store stock; well versed to guide clients with customisation requirements.
◆ Stay updated on LGD market pricing, competitor positioning, and industry trends.
◆ Assist in training junior sales staff on product knowledge and selling techniques.
Customer Relationship Management
◆ Maintain personal client records: follow up post-purchase, acknowledge anniversaries/birthdays, and invite for special events.
◆ Handle client queries, size/fit issues, and minor complaints at the first point of contact.
◆ Refer complex complaints or buyback/exchange situations to the Store Manager.
Showroom Operations
◆ Assist in daily stock display, jewellery handling, and returning pieces to the strong room.
◆ Ensure display cases are clean, correctly labelled, and aesthetically arranged at all times.
◆ Support the billing executive with client documentation during busy periods.
Requirements
◆ 3–5 years in luxury jewellery retail, fine watches, or premium lifestyle products.
◆ Solid understanding of diamond grading and jewellery construction — IGI/GIA literacy preferred.
◆ Excellent interpersonal skills; polished presentation and professional grooming.
◆ Fluent in Hindi and English; Punjabi or other North Indian languages are advantageous in this market.
◆ Demonstrated track record of achieving individual sales targets.
Ability to build genuine rapport across different client demographics — from young first-buyers to senior gifters.
