Job details:
We’re looking for an ML researcher to mentor one exceptional young mind.
At Robokidz Eduventures (Pune), we mentor students for national and international STEM competitions. We’re now supporting an exceptional high-school student — already working at near-undergraduate level in AI/ML — as she develops an independent research project for IRIS, India’s premier school research competition, with an eye on the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF).
Her work sits in AI for social good (think autism, mental health, or social-resource domains). She does not need to be taught machine learning. She needs a research mentor — someone who can help turn raw ability into a rigorous, genuinely novel, competition-grade investigation.
What the role involves:
– Helping shape a sharp, novel research question and hypothesis
– Designing controlled experiments and sound evaluation (baselines, ablations, error analysis)
– Guiding ethical, responsible use of data in sensitive domains
– Coaching the scientific write-up and the competition presentation
Who we’re looking for:
– Research-trained in ML: PhD, PhD candidate, postdoc, or research scientist (a strong MS research thesis also welcome)
– Depth in one of: ML fairness / health-AI, NLP, or optimisation
– A real instinct for novelty and rigour — you’ve had to defend your own research
– Comfortable mentoring and challenging a gifted student as a junior collaborator
– Prior experience guiding student research is a plus
Details:
– Part-time and remote-friendly: ~10 hours/week across a [6–9]-month season
– Paid engagement (honorarium commensurate with experience)
– Based anywhere in India
