We are looking for Senior/Principal Scientist – Process R&D (Team Lead)
Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic Team Leader to spearhead a high-performing group of 5–10 researchers within our Process R&D department. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development of innovative and commercially viable synthetic routes for New Chemical Entities (NCEs) and key intermediates. You will act as the critical link between early-phase discovery and large-scale manufacturing, ensuring all chemical processes are inherently safe, robust, scalable, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Strategy: Define and drive the technical roadmap for Process R&D. You will lead innovative route scouting, feasibility assessments, and retrosynthetic analysis to deliver "right-first-time" chemical processes for complex molecules.
Leadership & Team Mentorship: Direct and develop a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence. You will provide expert oversight on experimental design, ensure rigorous data integrity, and mentor staff in translating complex analytical data into actionable process improvements.
Scale-up & Technology Transfer: Lead the seamless transition of chemical processes from the benchtop to kilo-labs, pilot plants, and large-scale commercial manufacturing, proactively troubleshooting scale-up challenges to ensure technical continuity.
Technical Documentation: Author and critically review high-quality Process Development Reports (PDRs) and technical transfer packages, ensuring all documentation meets the stringent requirements.
Safety & Compliance: Foster a culture of excellence by ensuring all laboratory operations strictly adhere to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols.
Required Qualifications
Education: Ph.D. in Organic Synthetic Chemistry.
Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience in CDMO industry.
Experience in Carbohydrates, peptides and ADCs are plus
