About Us:
Progyan Foundation for Research & Innovation (PFRI) is a Kolkata-based non-profit organization focused on four key areas: Climate Action, Biodiversity & Wildlife Conservation, Sustainable Livelihood Generation, and Eco-friendly Green Energy Generation. It aims to sustain environmental, social, and economic development while alleviating poverty. PFRI is a policy-science think tank that advances scientific knowledge, offers adaptive guidelines, and develops sustainable solutions for climate change, resource optimization, and community resilience. Its roots trace back to the South Asian Forum for Environment (SAFE), a regional CSO dedicated to advancing Sustainable Development Goals through community-based solutions. PFRI has a global clientele including World Bank groups, Global Development Network, Asia Pacific Network Japan, GIZ Germany, IUCN-MFF, IASCP USA, ICIMOD Nepal, and IWMI Sri Lanka.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement scientific projects and research solutions.
2. Prepare and bid for national and international funding proposals.
3. Develop strategies, monitoring frameworks, and capacity-building modules.
4. Support project implementation, troubleshooting, and outreach.
5. Draft research publications, reports, and communications.
6. Manage lab systems, inventory, and stakeholder collaborations.
7. Address environmental issues and community adaptation with scientific models.
8. Ensure proper planning, reporting, and logistical coordination.
9. Travel to project sites as needed, domestically and internationally.
