Company Description
The Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP) is inviting applications for the position of Senior Research Associate at the newly established ISPP Centre for Urban Transitions (ICUT).
As India’s urban landscape rapidly evolves, ICUT aims to become a leading centre for research, capacity building, and policy advisory in integrated urban management and urban development. The Centre will work closely with governments, urban institutions, practitioners, and experts to shape sustainable and future-ready cities.
Role Description
The selected candidates will work closely with the Director, ICUT, and play a key role in establishing and scaling the Centre’s work across research, training, stakeholder engagement, and programme management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Centre’s research and training agenda
- Design and deliver programmes on integrated urban management and urban transitions
- Lead or coordinate applied research, policy briefs, and advisory projects
- Build partnerships with urban local bodies, think tanks, academic institutions, and government agencies
- Develop case studies, knowledge products, and online learning materials
- Manage programme operations, reporting, logistics, and communications
- Represent ICUT at conferences, forums, and stakeholder meetings
Who Should Apply
We are looking for professionals with:
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in research, consulting, capacity building, or project implementation in the urban sector
- Strong understanding of urban governance, infrastructure, mobility, land-use, or public finance
- Experience working with government agencies, multilateral institutions, or urban think tanks (preferred)
- Excellent analytical, writing, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills
Educational Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Urban Planning, Urban Management, Urban Economics, or related fields
OR
Postgraduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Management, or related disciplines
Compensation: ₹8–10 LPA (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
