Role Overview
This is a high-stakes, strategic role. In a global retail jewellery environment, this role entails responsibility to manage the flow of high-value assets while balancing the "Just-in-Time" needs of luxury retail against the volatility of precious metal prices.
Senior Merchandiser/ Replenishment role will lead global inventory planning and stock allocation for a multi-country jewellery retail network for our global luxury brands JEAN DOUSSET/ WITH CLARITY and upcoming brands. This role ensures the right assortment, quantity, and value of jewellery inventory is available across stores and channels while optimizing working capital, minimizing stock imbalances, and safeguarding high-value assets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Replenishment & Planning
· Global Inventory Flow: Design and execute replenishment models for different product tiers: Core/Never-Out-of-Stock (NOOS), High-Jewellery (One-of-a-kind), and Seasonal/Fashion Collections. Develop and execute replenishment plans based on sell-through, demand trends, and sales forecasts.
- OTB (Open-to-Buy) Management: Collaborate with Finance and Merchandising to manage global OTB budgets, ensuring stock levels align with sales forecasts and financial targets.
- Regional Localization: Adapt replenishment logic for diverse markets.
2. Inventory Allocation & Optimization
· Allocate high-value inventory strategically based on store performance and customer demographics
· Optimize stock rotation across stores and geographies
· Control slow-moving, dead, and ageing inventory (especially high-value SKUs)
3. Supply Chain & Vendor Coordination
· Collaborate with sourcing, manufacturing, and procurement teams
· Manage replenishment cycles considering production lead times and metal price volatility
· Ensure secure and compliant logistics for international movement of jewellery
4. Stock Visibility & Control
· Maintain real-time visibility of inventory across stores, warehouses, and transit
· Implement strict inventory control processes to reduce shrinkage and losses
· Ensure compliance with global trade, customs, and hallmarking regulations
5.Data & Reporting
· Prepare weekly and monthly replenishment dashboards.
· Analyze sales trends, category performance, and replenishment gaps.
· Work closely with finance to reconcile inventory valuation.
· Ensure data accuracy between Sales, ERP, and inventory systems.
6. Financial & Risk Management
· Optimize inventory investment and working capital
• Manage risks related to:
Gold/Metal price fluctuations
Currency variations
High-value stock holding
· Align replenishment strategy with revenue and margin target
7. Team Leadership
· Lead global and regional replenishment teams
· Establish KPIs and governance frameworks
· Build capabilities in analytics, planning, and inventory control
Qualifications & Experience
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
· MBA / Postgraduate degree preferred
Experience
· 10-18 years in inventory planning / replenishment
· Strong experience in retail (jewellery, luxury, fashion, or high-value goods)
· Proven track record managing multi-country or global operations
