Responsibilities

Create simple-to-use, engaging, high-performing video streaming React Native applications on a range of low-end to high-end devices and on a range of screen sizes from mobile browsers to high-definition TVs.
Be responsible for creating digital entertainment products that are used by millions of users.
Work fast. The media industry moves fast to meet launch timelines with big advertising and content production budgets at stake. We make quick releases to receive customer and user feedback, which helps us create the very best products on the market. Partner with designers, project managers, QA engineers, operations engineers, third-party systems providers, and customers.
Think about and implement automation to make your team's high-quality development as efficient as possible.
At all times consider how to develop your code the right way for better maintenance by a wider team and for high performance instead of taking shortcuts to get the job done.
Have the potential to be a mentor and leader for other developers as the Diagnal team grows over time.
Be required to deliver projects on other technologies as the Diagonal business requires.

Requirements

4 or more years of experience with front-end React Native-based solutions in project services or product engineering organizations.
Experience in working with video players and video streaming on both Android and iOS platforms.
Hands-on experience with building custom React Native components that work across different mobile platforms.
Knowledge in mobile app publishing workflow - Android/iOS.
Hands-on experience with React Native APIs, ReactJS, Javascript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3 Redux, Hooks, and Functional components.
Experience with developing highly polished consumer-facing applications with interactivity and responsive behavior directly from design assets.
Hands-on experience on iOS or Android and familiar with native build tools, like XCode and Android Studio, and build/deployment automation.
Good exposure to various 3rd party Integrations (Firebase, Google Map, Payment gateways) and experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
Self-motivation and the ability to manage your own time to get the job done at the high international quality levels we expect.
An engineering Degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
A solid understanding of browser system fundamentals, application performance optimization, and backend integration.
Prior experience working within the Media, E-commerce, Telecommunications, or similar large-scale consumer-facing industry.
