Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Department: Commercial & Contracts
Reporting To: Commercial Manager / Head of Commercial & Contracts
Location: Dhorela, Gujarat
Role Summary
Responsible for managing all commercial and cost-related aspects of projects from tender to final account, including contract administration, procurement, subcontract management, cost control, variations, claims, forecasting, and commercial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within budget while protecting the company's commercial interests.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Manage project commercial administration.
- Monitor budgets, costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Identify commercial risks and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Contract Administration
- Administer contracts and review contract documents.
- Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, and submissions.
- Maintain records and support dispute resolution.
Cost Control
- Monitor project expenditures.
- Review subcontractor payments.
- Prepare client payment claims and cost reports.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
Procurement & Subcontract Management
- Prepare BOQs, enquiries, and tender documents.
- Evaluate quotations and conduct commercial negotiations.
- Prepare Letters of Award and subcontract agreements.
- Manage subcontract variations and final accounts.
Variations & Claims
- Identify and negotiate variation orders.
- Assess variation submissions.
- Prepare EOT cost assessments and contractual claims.
Final Account
- Prepare and negotiate client and subcontractor final accounts.
- Close commercial matters and recover contractual entitlements.
Prepare and maintain:
- Project Cost Report
- Cost-to-Complete Forecast
- Cash Flow Forecast
- Variation Register
- Procurement Status
- Commitment Report
- Commercial Risk Register
- Final Account Status
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with project teams, procurement, finance, and planning.
- Attend project/commercial meetings.
- Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Provide commercial advice to project teams.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- 8–12 years in quantity surveying/commercial roles within construction, EPC, or engineering.
- Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, industrial, cleanroom, oil & gas, or data center projects preferred.
- Experience in subcontract management and commercial administration.
- Familiar with lump sum, remeasurement, and cost-reimbursable contracts.

- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage.
