Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer, Telecom to join our engineering team and lead the validation of telecom applications and network-related features. You will work closely with the R&D, Core, IP, Network, and NOC teams to plan, design, and execute end-to-end tests, with a strong focus on feature coverage and risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate has experience building test plans based on product requirements, validating new R&D deliverables, developing and running automated tests, and performing manual testing where needed. Experience with mobile core, roaming, and mobile network technologies such as 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed test plans and test cases for telecom applications, aligned with product requirements and functional specifications.
- Coordinate and perform test execution activities, including implementation of test automation procedures and scripts.
- Determine the proper prioritization of the testing activities and ensure integrative work and full coverage of test scenarios based on the test plan and observations from concurrent testing activities.
- Collect and analyze system behavioral results in order to provide recommendations for issue resolution as well as for system optimization.
- Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the professional and business relationship with the customer and internal partners, as to act as a technical interface for team members and with other teams to resolve issues and communicate conclusions and recommendations.
- Ensure that product documentation, test ware and work products used in the activities are of the highest quality to ensure traceability, correctness and compliance to both internal standards and client needs.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in QA engineering, with experience in telecom application testing.
- Strong experience creating test plans, test cases, and verification plans based on product requirements.
- Experience in test automation development and execution.
- Hands-on experience in manual testing for complex telecom features and scenarios.
- Experience working with technical support and/or troubleshooting in mobile technologies (mobile core & roaming) and/or familiar with mobile networks & technologies (3G, 4G, 5G structure and technology).
- Familiarity with CS Mobile Core domain - MAP and Diameter protocol.
- Familiarity with PS Mobile Core domain - GTPv1/v2 protocols.
- Experience with troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and other network trace or protocol analysis tools.
- Experience with API testing, including REST and SOAP services.
- Experience working with microservices and distributed applications.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is an advantage.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Java-based test frameworks, Postman, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates in automated delivery environments.
- Familiarity with Roaming quality tools (SIGOS, Quadified, etc…).
- Understanding of the 3GPP standards and GSMA guidelines.
