Role Description The Senior Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer is a full-time, on-site/office role based in Ernakulam, responsible for ensuring that all construction projects meet ABAD Builders’ quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves planning and implementing QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections at various project stages, and verifying that materials and workmanship comply with approved specifications and codes. The engineer will perform quality audits, monitor corrective and preventive actions, and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, test results, and non-conformities. Daily tasks include coordinating with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, providing technical guidance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role also includes preparing quality reports, contributing to risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance guidelines across project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspections & Testing: Conduct regular site inspections of foundations, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, and finishing works. Verify material quality and manage laboratory tests.
- Defect Management: Identify non-conformities, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed quality records, inspection checklists, method statements, and material submittals.
- Reporting & Coordination: To assist Asst.Manager-QA/QC in his official work process. Generation of weekly and monthly reports.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Quality Control practices, including material testing, process control, and site inspection within construction or civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance, with the ability to develop, implement, and monitor QA procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Quality Auditing, including conducting internal audits, assessing compliance with codes and regulations, and recommending corrective actions.
- Competence in Quality Management, with experience managing quality systems, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple projects.
- Hands-on expertise in Inspection activities, including structural and finishing inspections, checklist-based evaluations, and final handover assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline; advanced certifications in QA/QC or quality management are an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to residential and commercial construction in India.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to make sound technical judgments under time constraints.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external stakeholders on-site.
