Role Description
We’re looking for a hands-on QA Engineer who can own quality end-to-end — from test planning to automation framework development. You’ll work closely with developers, product, and AI teams to ensure every release meets the bar, in a fast-moving startup where quality is a shared responsibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own test planning, test case design, and execution across features and releases.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks for both API and UI testing.
- Perform API testing on REST-based services (contract, functional, edge cases).
- Develop and maintain UI automation scripts using Selenium or equivalent.
- Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and priority tagging.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality checks.
- Collaborate with developers during feature development — shift-left testing approach.
- Run regression, smoke, and integration test cycles on every release.
- Write and maintain SQL queries to validate data integrity at the database level.
- Collaborate with the AI team to test and validate AI-powered features and integrations.
MANDATORY SKILLS
Technical
- QA Experience: 3 years, hands-on in both manual and automation testing.
- Test Planning: Strong understanding of QA processes, test strategies, and case design.
- API Testing: REST API testing using Postman and Newman (collection runner for CI/CD integration).
- UI Automation: Selenium or equivalent framework (hands-on, not just exposure).
- CI/CD Integration: Experience plugging tests into pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Bug Tracking: Proficient with tools like Jira — clear reporting and triage.
- Database: Basic SQL — querying and validating data as part of testing.
GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS

- Performance Testing: Exposure to JMeter, k6, or similar tools.
- Security Testing: Awareness of OWASP concepts and auth flow testing basics.
- AI/LLM Feature Testing: Validating prompts, responses, and model behavior.
- Non-Deterministic Testing: Testing for quality, relevance, and boundaries where no fixed expected output exists.
- AI API Integration Testing: Experience testing calls to services like OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar.
- AI Failure Modes: Awareness of hallucinations, context drift, tool/function call failures.
- Network Protocols: Understanding of HTTP, REST, request/response lifecycle.
- Startup Experience: Prior experience in a startup or agile fast-paced environment.
