About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer – Data Migration to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Data Migration Testing, ETL validation, and SQL-based data verification. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of migrated data while working closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners throughout the migration lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for data migration projects.
- Validate ETL processes across source and target systems.
- Perform data reconciliation to verify data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Validate business rules related to data survivorship and deduplication.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve migration-related issues.
- Design and execute test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and quality metrics.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and Production Validation.
- Ensure all migration quality standards and acceptance criteria are successfully met.
Mandatory Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Data Migration Testing.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in ETL Testing.
- Strong expertise in SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and verification.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
- Experience in data quality validation and ETL process testing.
- Strong understanding of data profiling, data reconciliation, survivorship, and deduplication concepts.
- Experience using defect management and test management tools.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to test automation tools is an added advantage.
