Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Python SDET with 9+ years of hands-on experience in software test automation, framework architecture, and quality engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable automation frameworks, implementing comprehensive API and UI testing strategies, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
The candidate should possess strong expertise in Python-based automation, modern testing tools, and DevOps practices, along with proven leadership skills to mentor junior engineers and drive continuous quality improvements across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Automation Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, unittest, or Robot Framework.
- API and UI Automation: Develop and execute automated tests for REST APIs, backend microservices, and web/mobile applications using Requests, aiohttp, Selenium, Playwright, or Appium.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to enable continuous testing and faster feedback.
- Quality Engineering: Collaborate with developers to improve test coverage, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Performance Testing: Develop and execute performance and load testing scripts using Locust or JMeter.
- Database Validation: Perform backend data validation and verification using SQL queries and relational databases.
- DevOps and Test Environment Management: Work with Docker, Linux, Git, and containerized environments to support reliable and repeatable test execution.
- Technical Leadership: Define automation best practices, review test scripts and framework designs, and mentor junior SDETs and QA engineers.
- Agile Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills and QualificationsTechnical Skills
- 9+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET), test automation, or automation engineering, with strong hands-on Python expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in Python programming and test automation framework development.
- Strong experience with PyTest, unittest, or Robot Framework.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium or Playwright for UI automation; Appium experience is an advantage.
- Strong expertise in REST API testing using Python Requests, aiohttp, or equivalent tools.
- Experience integrating automated tests into Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Practical knowledge of Docker, Linux, Git, and version control workflows.
- Strong SQL skills for database validation and backend testing.
- Experience with test strategy development, debugging, defect analysis, and root-cause investigation.
Leadership and Communication
- Proven ability to lead automation initiatives and establish testing standards.
- Experience mentoring engineers and conducting automation code reviews.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in Agile/Scrum teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Behave.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as Locust or JMeter.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized test execution.
- Experience testing distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native applications.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong Python SDET who can independently architect automation frameworks, drive API and UI testing initiatives, optimize CI/CD-based test execution, and lead quality engineering practices across complex applications.
