Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Purchasing Officer, based in Chennai. The Senior Purchasing Officer will manage procurement processes, evaluate and approve purchase orders, handle purchase requisitions, negotiate favorable contract terms with vendors, and oversee supply chain operations. The role also involves analyzing procurement data to optimize cost-efficiency and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality goods and services.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of Purchasing Processes, Purchase Orders, and Purchase Requisitions
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation and supplier relationship management
- Strong Analytical Skills to identify cost-saving measures and optimize vendor performance
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, demonstrating reliability and teamwork
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools is an advantage
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
