Role Description
This is an on-site, full-time role based at Gem Equipments’ headquarters in Coimbatore for a Senior Purchasing Manager. The Senior Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement process, evaluate vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost-saving strategies. The individual will ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services, manage inventory levels, and collaborate with other departments to meet operational goals. The role requires managing supplier performance and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory procurement policies.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Procurement, Vendor Management, and Supply Chain Operations
- Strong Negotiation, Contract Management, and Cost Analysis skills
- Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, and Leadership capabilities
- Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Strategic Decision-Making skills
- Understanding of industry-specific terms and quality standards
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and relevant procurement software
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Experience in the manufacturing or engineering industry is an added advantage
