Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Protection Engineer in Relay Testing and Commissioning based in Chennai, with some flexibility for remote work. Responsibilities include testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection relays, analyzing relay coordination, preparing technical reports, and troubleshooting issues. The engineer will work on-site periodically at power generation and grid substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining optimal system functionality.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Relay Testing, Protection Systems, and Commissioning processes
- Proficiency in Power System Analysis and Relay Coordination
- Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical systems and solving protective relay problems
- Experience in preparing detailed technical reports and documentation
- Excellent analytical skills and familiarity with industry standards and tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Willingness to travel to on-site locations as necessary
- Experience in the power generation or transmission sector is an advantage
