Our client is a leading automotive component manufacturer from South India. They serve major OEMs and aftermarket customers across global markets. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end execution of large scale industrial and greenfield projects for them. The role will be based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in EPC project delivery across electrical, and mechanical domains, with a strong track record of commissioning manufacturing facilities on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
• Lead planning, design, procurement, and execution of greenfield and brownfield industrial projects from concept to commissioning
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate vendors, and manage contractors
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost control reports; provide regular updates to senior management
• Coordinate with architects, PMC, consultants, subcontractors, and government bodies for approvals and compliance
• Oversee all civil, electrical, mechanical, structural, utilities, and site installation
• Drive quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all project phases
• Manage invoice reconciliation, payment milestones, and project-level financial tracking
• Identify risks and implement mitigation measures; conduct regular safety and quality audits
• Mentor and guide project teams including engineers, supervisors, and contractors
Ideal Candidate Profile
• B.Tech / BE in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
• PMP or equivalent project management certification will be a plus
• 15+ years of project management experience in the industrial / manufacturing sector
• Proven experience managing greenfield projects
• Demonstrated capability in managing government approvals, liaising with statutory bodies
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Hands-on exposure to automobile manufacturing facilities preferred
• Prior experience in maintenance and commissioning roles is a strong plus
