About the role
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented, execution-focused, and analytically strong Project Manager to join our online market research operations team. This role is central to the successful delivery of quantitative research studies across global markets, predominantly the US, UK, and international B2B/B2C ecosystems.
The ideal candidate should possess strong end-to-end ownership capabilities across project execution, client servicing, scripting coordination, sample management, data quality validation, and reporting workflows. This is not a coordination-only role — we are looking for someone who understands the operational, logical, and analytical nuances of online research and can proactively drive projects with speed, accountability, and precision.
The role demands high agility, strong multi-tasking ability, operational maturity, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment handling multiple concurrent studies with strict timelines.
Role- Senior Project Manager (Online Market Research Operations)
Location- Gurugram (Work from Office)
Key Responsibilities
End-to End Project Ownership
- Independently manage the complete lifecycle of quantitative online research projects from kickoff to final delivery.
- Ensure projects are launched, monitored, validated, and delivered within timelines while adhering to client requirements and internal quality standards.
- Maintain complete ownership of project execution including timelines, feasibility alignment, scripting coordination, field management, quotas, data checks, tabulation planning, and reporting coordination.
- Drive proactive communication internally and externally throughout all project phases.
Client Servicing & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for clients during active project execution.
- Interpret client objectives, research intent, questionnaire requirements, and reporting expectations accurately.
- Ensure timely acknowledgement and resolution of client requests, revisions, and escalations.
- Build confidence with clients through responsiveness, attention to detail, consultative thinking, and execution reliability.
Questionnaire Review & Research Logic Understanding
- Review questionnaires thoroughly for logic consistency, research flow, respondent experience, and data quality implications before scripting.
- Possess strong understanding of:
- Complex skip logic
- Piping and randomization
- Rotations and masking
- Quota structures
- Validation conditions
- Multi-level logic dependencies
- Mobile optimization
- Grid optimization
- Conjoint and MaxDiff structures
- Brand lists and segmentation frameworks
- Identify gaps, contradictions, or potential respondent biases proactively before launch.
Scripting Coordination & Survey Validation
- Work closely with Survey Programming teams and possess operational exposure to platforms such as Decipher and related survey ecosystems.
- Coordinate testing and validation for:
- Survey logic
- Quota controls
- Redirects
- URL parameters
- API variables
- Security checks
- Device compatibility
- Open-end validations
- Conduct multiple rounds of pre-launch QA across logic, aesthetics, respondent flow, language handling, and overall user experience before exposing links to clients or sample partners.
- Ensure all client comments and revisions are implemented accurately and validated thoroughly.
Sample & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with internal panel assets and external sample/vendor partners for feasibility, pricing, quota distribution, and field monitoring.
- Monitor incidence rates, conversion trends, dropout points, and supply quality during fieldwork.
- Optimize sample allocation and vendor mix to balance quality, timelines, and project profitability.
- Handle vendor communication professionally while maintaining accountability on deliverables and quality expectations.
Data Quality & Validation
- Take ownership of overall data integrity and respondent quality throughout project execution.
- Identify and remove:
- Speeders
- Straight-liners
- Duplicate respondents
- AI/fraudulent responses
- Gibberish or poor-quality open ends
- Contextually inconsistent responses
- Apply contextual and logical validations beyond automated checks to ensure reliable and research-ready datasets.
- Work closely with Data Processing teams on data cleaning logic, variable mapping, coding structures, weighting requirements, and final outputs.
Operational Excellence & Automation Mindset
- Be highly proficient in Excel and operational data handling including:
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Pivot tables
- Advanced formulas
- Data cleaning
- Validation techniques
- Large dataset handling
- Leverage automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, and operational efficiencies to improve turnaround time and reduce manual dependency.
- Maintain strong process discipline, documentation standards, and execution accuracy while handling multiple live studies simultaneously.
Budget & Commercial Awareness
- Track project costs, sample spends, vendor allocation, and operational profitability throughout execution.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure projects remain commercially viable while maintaining quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in online quantitative market research project management.
- Prior experience handling international research studies across US, UK, APAC, or Middle East markets preferred.
- Experience in agency-side or full-service research environments strongly preferred.
Technical & Research Understanding
Strong operational understanding of:
- Online survey methodologies
- Questionnaire structures
- Survey logic and routing
- Quota management
- Conjoint and MaxDiff studies
- Tabulation planning
- Data validation workflows
- Online panel ecosystems and sampling methodologies
Exposure to:
- Decipher
- Sawtooth
- SPSS/tabulation workflows
- Automation and AI-assisted operational tools is highly preferred.
