The position is responsible for maintaining the integrated project plan, coordinating business and technical workstreams, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring timely decisions and executive visibility.
Working closely with executive leadership, Business Process Owners (BPOs), operating companies, the Corporate PMO, and the SAP implementation partner, the Senior SAP Project Manager will ensure the program is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the Group’s strategic objectives.
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong SAP S/4HANA Cloud, greenfield implementation, Global Template, and multi-wave rollout experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP Program across all implementation waves.
- Own and maintain the integrated project plan, including milestones, dependencies, critical path, resources, decisions, and deadlines.
- Act as the Client's primary day-to-day point of contact for the system integrator, SAP, Business Process Owners, operating companies, and third-party vendors.
- Lead the project using the SAP Activate methodology and establish formal quality and readiness gates between phases.
- Coordinate the design and governance of the Global Template and ensure changes are evaluated for cross-company and cross-wave impact.
- Facilitate Fit-to-Standard activities and ensure requirements, gaps, decisions, and approvals are documented and traceable.
- Coordinate Business Process Owners and key users to ensure timely process decisions, testing, training, data preparation, and sign-off.
- Oversee data migration planning, including object inventory, data ownership, cleansing, mapping, mock migrations, reconciliation, cutover, and business approval.
- Oversee integration planning, including interface inventory, ownership, API and middleware dependencies, testing, monitoring, and third-party coordination.
- Manage project scope, budget, change requests, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and executive escalations.
- Coordinate testing, cutover, go-live readiness, Hypercare, first-close support, and wave closure.
- Provide regular and decision-oriented reporting to the Steering Committee and executive leadership.
- Ensure SAP Cloud ALM and agreed project-management tools are used consistently for tasks, requirements, testing, and delivery traceability.
- Work with HR and designated change-management resources to coordinate communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and organizational readiness.
- Monitor implementation-partner performance against contractual deliverables, timelines, resource commitments, and quality expectations.
Role Boundaries
- The Senior SAP Project Manager owns overall program delivery, coordination, governance, and execution on behalf of the Client.
- The CIO provides day-to-day direction, sets priorities, resolves technical and delivery escalations, and completes the performance review.
- The CFO provides strategic business direction through the dotted-line relationship and sponsors business and finance transformation.
- The Corporate PMO supports governance standards, executive reporting, budget tracking, and project controls.
- Business Process Owners remain accountable for defining and approving business processes and Global Template decisions.
- Finance and business data owners remain accountable for data quality, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
- IT owns enterprise architecture, security, technical integrations, environments, and technical delivery responsibilities.
- The SAP implementation partner remains responsible for system configuration, development, implementation services, and solution delivery defined in the SOW.
- Organizational change management may be supported by HR and specialist resources at key stages, with the Senior SAP Project Manager coordinating these activities within the overall plan.
