You’ll work alongside a diverse group of 200 multi-lingual consultants and sector specialists, with a deep specialism in Asian markets, market expansion strategy and cross-border business development. Across 35+ years, Intralink has helped more than 2,000 tech scaleups, SMEs, multinationals and government agencies across Europe, North America and Asia, securing over $20 billion in revenues and inward investment for our clients.
We are growing our team in India and are looking for a dynamic multilingual / multicultural Senior Project Manager (minimum 10 years of experience) to join our Medtech and Life Sciences (“MTLS”) team. So, if you are up for the challenge, read on and apply.
What you’ll be doing
The role involves proactively running hands-on business development initiatives in India for innovative technology clients from overseas and originating new client relationships with Indian CDMOs, CROs and medtech scaleups, and includes the following responsibilities:
- Act as the on-the-ground extension of overseas clients’ strategy and business development teams in India and develop as well as implement effective market entry and growth strategies
- Identify, contact, and meet potential Indian customers through cold emails / calls, meetings, conferences, and networking events
- Conduct market research on India-focused opportunities (market size, trends, competitive landscape, regulations, ecosystem dynamics)
- Manage the whole sales process and drive business development initiatives on behalf of clients from initial lead generation to meetings, negotiation, deal closure, and market expansion support
- Provide interpretation and technical liaison between clients and Indian firms
- Provide clients with key progress indicators in the form of meeting notes, reports in English and regular update calls
- Support visit arrangements for clients in your territory, including scheduling, meeting coordination, logistics, and meeting support
- Investigate, promote and sell Intralink’s services to prospective MTLS clients in India, including leading CDMOs, CROs and medtech scaleups, in consultation with the Global Head of MTLS and the MD of India
- Identify prospective clients with immediate potential for projects with Intralink by engaging and presenting to decision-makers
- Prepare and manage relevant sales and marketing collateral and support the Global Head of MTLS and the MD of India, in preparing proposals and negotiating and concluding client contracts, as appropriate
- Manage the upkeep of all market contacts into Intralink’s CRM system and the status of any sales pipeline via the same system
- Travel across India as required to attend trade shows, conferences, and other events for the purposes of networking and securing opportunities with prospective clients
What you’ll need
- A genuine interest in healthcare and life science technologies, and international business
- Native proficiency in English, Hindi and preferably another Indian language, with excellent spoken and written English, to effectively convey complex ideas between international clients and Indian customers and to Indian prospects
- 10+ years’ technology sales, business development or partnerships experience in the medtech and life sciences sector in India, either through delivering results for clients or from business development roles (e.g. client acquisition) or from selling strategic consulting or other related services, with a history of closing deals in the $50-200k+ range
- A good understanding of the sales process in the healthcare industry, and of medical / technical terms, regulations, reimbursement, and professional journals
- A degree related to medtech or life sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, clinical pathology, medical engineering, etc.) is required, with additional qualifications in business / management a plus
- MBA or technology-related Master’s degree from a reputed institution is preferred
- Strong networks across key target sectors, with an understanding of the Indian business environment to identify the right companies and people to engage
- High-level proficiency in synthesising diverse information sources to effectively and concisely communicate complex ideas in written, verbal and visual formats
- The ability to work independently while being part of a team
- Excellent project and time management skills to deliver results and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot) and Salesforce
