About the Role:
This position will support the execution of a large-scale shopping mall development, with a strong focus on space frame, Pre-Engineered Building (PEB), and structural steel works, ensuring quality fabrication, safe erection, and timely delivery of complex steel structures such as atriums, roofs, facades, and canopies.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Review and coordinate structural drawings including GA, fabrication, and erection drawings
- Validate connection details (bolted / welded) and ensure alignment with design intent
- Coordinate with structural consultants, architects, and PMC teams
- Verify member sizing, node detailing, and load paths against site conditions
Fabrication Management (Factory Stage)
- Monitor fabrication processes including cutting, drilling, welding, and assembly
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings and material specifications
- Verify welding quality (WPS/PQR compliance) and dimensional accuracy
- Oversee surface treatments such as painting and galvanizing
Material Planning & Logistics
- Prepare and track material requirement schedules and delivery timelines
- Coordinate dispatch sequencing aligned with erection plans
- Ensure proper tagging and identification of fabricated members
Site Erection & Installation
- Supervise erection of space frame systems (atria/skylights), PEB structures, and MS steel works
- Ensure alignment, level, plumb, and proper bolt tightening (torque checks)
- Coordinate crane operations, lifting plans, and erection sequences
- Monitor on-site welding activities where required
Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)
- Conduct inspections for incoming materials, fabrication quality, and erection tolerances
- Ensure NDT testing (UT, RT, DP), bolt torque testing, and paint thickness (DFT) checks
- Maintain QA/QC documentation and inspection records
Safety Management
- Implement work-at-height safety protocols and lifting safety procedures
- Ensure PPE compliance, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work systems
- Monitor risks during heavy lifting and high-level erection activities
Coordination with Other Trades
- Coordinate with roofing, façade, and MEP teams for seamless integration
- Ensure alignment of openings, supports, and embedments
- Avoid clashes with ducts, pipes, and cable trays
Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare erection schedules and micro-level work plans
- Track daily progress against targets and report delays, risks, and mitigation plans
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports, fabrication logs, and erection records
- Support as-built documentation, measurements, and billing certification
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8–15 years of experience in steel structures / PEB / space frame projects
- Strong expertise in fabrication, erection, and QA/QC of structural steel works
- Experience in large commercial / mall / mixed-use developments preferred
- Good understanding of lifting plans, erection sequencing, and site safety practices
- Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and trades
- Strong problem-solving and execution capabilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering
