Role Description The Senior Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for leading the engineering execution of security and safety system projects. This role oversees detailed project engineering, including system design, configuration, and documentation, ensuring solutions meet client requirements, industry standards, and local regulations. The Senior Project Engineer coordinates with project managers, field technicians, and vendors to support installation, testing, and commissioning activities, and resolves technical issues throughout the project lifecycle. Day-to-day tasks include preparing engineering drawings and calculations, reviewing technical specifications, supporting project planning and scheduling, and providing guidance to junior engineers. The role also involves regular communication with customers, participation in site meetings, and ongoing support for system handover and post-installation service.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with experience in designing and implementing security, safety, or similar technology systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Project Management and Project Planning skills, including scheduling, resource coordination, and risk mitigation for complex projects.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact professionally with customers and partners.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience in systems integration, building technologies, or security and safety solutions, preferably in an enterprise or industrial environment.
- Proficiency with engineering and design tools, documentation standards, and familiarity with applicable codes and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
