Sr Production Manager - Kolkatta

Key Responsibilities
Lead complete production operations including fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and dispatch activities.
Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets with optimum resource utilization.
Drive productivity improvement, process optimization, and reduction in manufacturing losses.
Monitor shop floor activities and ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery timelines.
Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Stores teams for smooth plant operations.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure proper manpower planning, workforce discipline, and operator productivity.
Monitor machine utilization, rejection control, downtime reduction, and process efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and statutory manufacturing norms.
Prepare MIS reports related to production output, efficiency, rejection, and plant performance.
Handle customer audits, internal audits, and process compliance activities.
Develop SOPs, process controls, and production best practices across departments.
Mentor and develop production supervisors, engineers, and shop floor teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
12–18 years of experience in production/manufacturing operations.
Must have experience in Heavy Machinery Manufacturing, Industrial Equipment, Fabrication, Capital Equipment, Process Equipment, DG Sets, Material
Handling Equipment, Steel Structures, or similar engineering manufacturing industries.
Strong exposure to fabrication, welding, assembly, machining, and plant operations.
Experience in handling large shop floor teams and multiple production lines.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement tools is preferred.
Good understanding of ERP systems, production planning, and manufacturing KPIs.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
