Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Product Tester to spearhead our Quality Assurance department. This is a "player-coach" role designed for a technical expert who can manage a growing team of testers while remaining hands-on in building our automation frameworks.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end quality of our SaaS platform, balancing rigorous manual exploratory testing with the development of scalable automated test suites. You will work closely with Engineering and Product leadership to ensure that our release cycles are both fast and flawless.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
Mentor & Manage: Lead of QA engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional growth.
Strategy & Planning: Define the QA roadmap, including the balance between manual and automated testing, and oversee the creation of comprehensive test plans.
Process Improvement: Implement and refine QA methodologies (Agile/Scrum) to improve efficiency and reduce the time-to-market.
2. Hands-on Automation & Manual Testing
Framework Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications and APIs (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress).
High-Level Manual Testing: Conduct sophisticated manual exploratory testing, focusing on complex user journeys, edge cases, and "destructive" testing that automation might miss.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab) to ensure continuous quality feedback.
3. Collaboration & Communication
Bug Lifecycle Management: Oversee the bug tracking process (Jira), ensuring that issues are clearly documented, prioritized, and resolved.
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the final gatekeeper for releases, communicating risks and quality metrics to the Product and Executive teams.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years in Software Testing/QA, with a proven track record of moving from manual testing into advanced automation.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing or leading a small-to-medium-sized QA team.
Technical Stack: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, or Java) for automation script writing.
Automation Tools: Expertise in tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
API Testing: Deep experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or RestAssured.
Database Knowledge: Ability to write SQL queries to validate data integrity during back-end testing.
