Job details:
Lead / Senior Product Designer
Noida · Reports to SVP Product
7–10 years (Lead)
4–7 years (Senior)
VZY is at the moment every product dreams of: the foundations are in place, the audience
is here, and the question now is what the product should feel like. We're looking for a
designer who wants to answer that question: give VZY a clear point of view, turn it into a
design language, and carry it across every screen we ship.
The philosophy we want you to shape
We have a starting belief, and we'd love you to challenge and sharpen it. An aggregator's
job is to reduce choice anxiety, not add to it, so the product should feel calm, confident
and edited rather than loud and endless. Content is the hero; the interface should step
back and let posters, trailers and people's taste do the talking. Premium should come from
restraint, motion and pace, not from gold gradients. And it should feel unmistakably Indian
without falling back on festival clichés.
The design language you'll build
Look and feel: a visual identity for VZY as a product, not just a brand guideline: colour,
type, imagery treatment, iconography, depth and dark-mode-first surfaces
Motion and sound: how things move, transition and respond, especially on TV where
every focus change is felt
Voice: how the product speaks, in English, Hindi and regional languages, and how that
changes between a hero banner and an error state
One system, four screens: phone, web, Smart TV at ten feet, and the phone acting as a
remote. Consistent in spirit, native to each
Formats with character: curator-led shelves, personalised home pages and editorial
moments that feel authored rather than algorithmically stacked
A living design system in Figma and in code, with tokens and components engineering
actually uses
How we want you to think
Start from the viewer, not the screen. Spend time with real users across metros and
smaller towns, on budget phones and patchy networks, and bring back what you see
Frame the problem before drawing the solution, and be able to say why a design is
right, not just that it looks right
Prototype early and test often; kill ideas cheaply
Treat data as an input to taste, not a replacement for it. Rail CTR and browse-to-play
matter; so does whether the product feels good at 11pm
Sit with product and editorial from the first problem statement, not at handoff
What you'll own day to day
End-to-end flows for discovery, search, subscription and the TV experience, including
remote-first navigation and live channel switching
Design reviews and the quality bar for everything that ships
At Lead level: hiring and growing two to four designers, and building the team's critique
culture.
You'll likely have
A portfolio that shows a point of view, not just polish, with shipped consumer products;
streaming, music, gaming or TV interfaces are a strong plus
Built or evolved a design language or system from scratch, and can walk us through the
decisions behind it
Strong visual, interaction and motion craft
Designed for Indian users across languages, network conditions and device tiers
It'll suit you if you can explain what a product believes in one sentence, and you notice
the half-second lag on a TV remote before anyone else does.
To apply for any role, share your CV and (for design) a portfolio link with the hiring team.
