Position Overview
HCL Technologies Ltd (HCLTech) is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement – Business Services to lead the procurement strategy and operations for business services across the Americas region. This role will be based out of India and is responsible for managing cross-border categories throughout the Americas, ensuring alignment with regional and global business objectives. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Head of Category Management for the Americas region and will play a key leadership role in driving value, efficiency, and innovation within the procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Business Services Professional Services procurement team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure high levels of engagement and results.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for business services categories that span multiple countries within the Americas, with a strong focus on cross-border initiatives and regional harmonization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, operations, accounts payable, business units) across the Americas to understand business needs, ensure alignment, and drive cost-effective solutions.
- Negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships to optimize value, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations across jurisdictions.
- Leverage strong contract negotiation expertise to secure favorable terms and drive optimal outcomes for HCLTech.
- Monitor market trends, identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings, and implement best practices in procurement processes and tools.
- Support the Head of Category Management in strategic planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, ethical, and company standards in procurement activities throughout the Americas region.
- Review contracts for the Professional Services team, and other categories as assigned and requested
- Mentor others in the Business Services Americas team regarding Procurement Best Practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in management overseeing regional or cross-border teams and categories.
- Ability to work hours that align with US time zones (5:00pm IST to 2:30AM IST) is a must
- Demonstrated expertise in procurement within a variety of non-IT business services and indirect materials categories across multiple countries, ideally within the Americas region
- Strong contract negotiation knowledge and hands-on experience with complex, multi-jurisdictional agreements are required.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements.
- Excellent people management skills; Proficient in verbal communication, writing, time management, organizational and presentation skills
- Experience managing supplier relationships and contracts in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
- Exceptionally strong work ethic displaying a mature and professional attitude with an ability to adjust quickly to change and to work independently with minimal direct oversight.
- Fluency in English is required; Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
- Motivated, self-starter and achievement oriented and excellent team building skills.
- Previous experience with Ariba is a plus
