Role Summary
We are hiring an experienced Senior Print Manager to oversee our pre-production and printing operations. This role assumes responsibility the moment client artwork is received and concludes when the accurately printed materials are handed off to the production floor. The successful candidate will manage artwork verification, pre-press workflows, structural sampling, color management, and overall process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Artwork Verification: Review client artwork using Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and standard pre-press software to identify and resolve issues with trapping, overprinting, bleeds, and resolution.
- Team Management: Supervise a team of graphic designers, ensuring artwork is accurately converted into print-ready files for both digital sampling and final offset printing.
- Sampling & Dielines: Create or oversee the creation of accurate dielines. Operate and manage plotter cutters to produce physical packaging samples for client approval.
- Tooling Coordination: Prepare final offset files post-approval and coordinate the manufacturing of the physical punching dies required for board conversion.
- Color & Material Management: Ensure precise color accuracy across CMYK and special/Pantone color printing processes. Apply a thorough understanding of various paper and board grades to manage ink behavior on different substrates.
- Production Oversight: Monitor the initial print setup and early run to guarantee speed and color accuracy. Complete a formal handover to the Production Manager once standards are met.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate the pre-press and printing workflow to improve turnaround times and reduce material waste.
- Special Color - Have knowledge of special process color (Pantone)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 8–10+ years of hands-on experience in print management or pre-press operations, specifically within the rigid box or commercial packaging sector.
- Software Skills: High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), CorelDRAW, Auto-Cad and standard pre-press workflow software.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of offset and digital printing processes, die-making operations, and the physical properties of packaging substrates.
- Key Attributes: Tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and highly focused on workflow optimization.
- Education: Having a print education background is a strong plus
