Job Overview:
IT Corporate Functions (CF) pillar has initiated key strategic initiatives to transform the Systems Landscape in McDermott. The Corporate Functions Transformation Lead will work closely with all IT directors and leaders to drive the transformation needed for all initiatives and help global users transition from legacy processes to newly rationalized and automated processes.
A critical responsibility of this position will be identifying and evaluating AI & Digital opportunities across all CF pillars including S&G, HR & Finance. On Identifying opportunities, the transformation lead will partner with the CF Pillar leads along with the AI solutions team to help drive these AI initiatives.
This leader will focus on Programs beginning with Sustainability and Governance (S&G) helping the pillar-lead drive and implement all S&G initiatives. Additionally, this role will also work closely with the HR and Finance pillar leads to do all activities from IT value stream mapping to simplify and rationalize processes prior to digitization and automation.
The Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist is considered a specialist in the field of IT Pillar, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Information Technology function. The Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to IT Pillar challenges.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Review of Invitation to Bid (ITB) from Clients for the Information Management requirements and assessment of the risks & opportunities for the project
- Prepare the Information Management Execution Plan for the project
- Prepare IM estimates and control spending within the allocated budgets
- Prepare, review, and issue IM Documents
- Detect and manage project scope changes
- Coordinate the project-specific infrastructure setup for construction sites, client resident teams, and joint venture partners in cooperation with Project IT
- Specify and coordinate the processes and tools for data collection, validation consolidation, and handover to the Client
- Single point of contact to project management and the Client for Information Management
- Translate project-specific information requirements into efficient system configurations and related user instructions
- Prepare functional specifications and manage the development and implementation of project-specific applications and/or interfaces
- Capture lessons learned, and best practices and ensure their embedding in the organization
- Initiate and conduct Information Management (IM) audits and peer reviews
- Train and coach personnel for and on assignments
- Provide input to audits and peer reviews and undertake other project audits as required
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Finance, or Management, Required Minimum
- 10+ years of experience in IT supporting engineering applications with 3+ years as a Project Information Manager
- Extensive functional knowledge in the Payroll industry and leadership expertise
- Extensive Project Management experience
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as a team leader
- Have wide experience with technical tools such as ERP, BI, etc.
- Maintain key competencies associated with the IT function
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
- Must be a finance IT SME in process & technical knowledge of Timekeeping systems, General Accounting, Job Cost Accounting, Sub-ledgers, General Ledger, and Close Cycles (month, quarter year)
- Knowledge of Tax, Treasury, Audit, Financial Reporting, Project Accounting, Billing & Revenue is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent field required.
- Master’s degree in computer science preferred.
- Exposure to AI and experience in implementing AI projects a definite plus.
- Experience in implementing enterprise-wide digital programs and the ability to drive and turnaround large complex global system implementations a plus.
