About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Power BI Architect/Lead with deep expertise in designing, developing, and scaling enterprise‑grade analytics solutions. This role requires proven experience integrating Google BigQuery with Power BI, building robust data models, and leading the development of large‑scale reporting practices across complex business environments.
This is a contract role and will be dedicated exclusively to our client, A premier American multinational software company.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Architecture & Development
- Architect, design, and maintain enterprise-level Power BI data models, datasets, semantic models, and dashboards.
- Build optimized, scalable DirectQuery or hybrid data connectivity solutions with BigQuery.
- Implement row‑level security (RLS), data governance, performance tuning, and workspace management best practices.
BigQuery + Power BI Integration
- Design and implement performant data pipelines, views, and SQL transformations in BigQuery for downstream BI use.
- Troubleshoot and optimize BigQuery queries to ensure low‑latency Power BI dashboards.
- Define integration strategy including gateway configuration, data refresh strategies, and cost optimization.
Enterprise Reporting Strategy + Leadership
Establish and drive a large‑scale reporting practice, including standards, templates, reusable assets, governance frameworks, and lifecycle management.
- Mentor analysts, BI developers, and data engineers on data modeling and visualization best practices.
- Define KPIs, reporting frameworks, and analytics roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with senior leadership to translate business needs into scalable BI solutions.
- Communicate insights and technical concepts effectively to non‑technical audiences.
- Manage expectations, prioritize initiatives, and deliver high‑impact analytic solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering.
- Expert‑level proficiency with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Hands‑on experience integrating Google BigQuery with Power BI.
- Strong SQL expertise and experience optimizing queries for cloud data warehouses.
- Proven experience building and leading enterprise reporting environments.
- Deep understanding of data governance, security, and analytics CoE models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS. GCP Preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD automation for Power BI deployments.
- Familiarity with semantic modeling tools such as Tabular Editor.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Data Analyst Associate or Google Professional Data Engineer.
