ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Planning Engineer located in Chennai. As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will oversee project schedules, coordinate with multiple teams, and develop strategic plans to ensure projects are completed on time. Key responsibilities include production planning, efficient resource allocation, project control, and conducting data analysis to meet deadlines. Collaboration and constant communication with various stakeholders will also be central to the role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or Diploma in Civil, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 6 to 8 years’ experience in the relevant fields or projects.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the residential projects is Mandatory.
- Strong Analytical Skills for evaluating project timelines and resource management
- Experience in Project Control and tracking project progress against benchmarks
- Excellent Communication and team coordination skills
- Knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work with individual and part of the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:
- Project Schedule Management: Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules using appropriate software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Track progress against the baseline schedule, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Cost Flow Management: Assist in the development of project budgets and cash flow projections. Monitor project expenditures, analyze cost variances, and provide regular reports to the Planning Manager.
- Daily Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely daily progress reports, capturing key activities, resources utilized, and any site-related issues.
- Manpower Planning: Collaborate with project managers and site teams to develop and track manpower requirements based on the project schedule. Identify potential resource constraints and propose solutions.
- Material Management: Assist in the planning and forecasting of material procurement schedules to ensure timely availability on site and minimize storage costs. Track material deliveries and consumption.
- Residential Construction Expertise: Apply a strong understanding of residential construction methodologies, sequencing, and potential challenges to the planning process.
- Coordination and Communication: Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal teams (project management, site engineers, procurement) and external stakeholders (subcontractors, consultants) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential project risks and developing proactive plans to mitigate their impact on schedule and cost.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date project-related documentation, including schedules, reports, and correspondence.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and process improvements within the Planning Department.
