- We are looking for a highly accomplished and motivated Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our rapidly growing UK Water team based in Bangalore and Gurgaon. Role Overview
We are seeking candidates with a strong academic background in Civil Engineering and proven experience working within a UK-based consultancy environment, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Experience in detailed design of pipelines, pumping stations, and associated civil infrastructure is essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
- Lead and support the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Develop practical, efficient, and value-driven engineering solutions in line with client and industry standards.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering outputs.
- Contribute to projects from feasibility and concept stages through to detailed design and construction support.
- Ensure all designs comply with technical, environmental, quality, and health & safety requirements, including CDM regulations.
Technical Requirements
- Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong experience in the design of pipeline projects within the water and wastewater sector.
- Good understanding of pipeline construction methodologies, including:
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
Micro Tunnelling
Open Cut installation techniques
- Knowledge of pipeline materials and their applications.
- Hands-on experience in the design of:
Pumping stations
Ring mains
Manholes and chambers
Underground civil structures
Associated infrastructure components
- Experience in preparing design risk assessments and managing design quality processes.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance standards.
- A proactive mindset towards innovation, continuous learning, and adopting new technologies to improve efficiency
- Hands-on experience in coordinating with BIM and drafting teams working on platforms such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to provide clear technical inputs, review models and drawings, and guide BIM/CAD teams to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, design calculations, technical documents, reports, and other project deliverables.
- Responsible for coordinating and managing the design approval process, including client reviews, technical governance, and submission requirements.
- Ensure all deliverables are produced in line with project standards, quality procedures, and UK industry requirements.
Leadership & Collaboration
The role will also involve:
- Mentoring and supporting early-career engineers and technicians.
- Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Contribute towards strengthening collaboration and technical integration between the India and UK teams.
- Support initiatives focused on improving project delivery efficiency, knowledge sharing, and business growth within the UK Water team.
- Actively participate in developing best practices, improving workflows, and enhancing multidisciplinary coordination across global teams.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and delivery teams to support long-term business objectives.
Experience & Qualifications
- Mandatory
- Minimum 6–7 years of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Preferred
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience working on UK water industry projects and familiarity with UK standards and practices.
- Desired Skills
- Membership with a recognized professional institution such as the Engineering Council or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership.
- Strong understanding of UK water sector standards, specifications, and design practices.
