Job Summary
Interex Semiconductor is hiring experienced Physical Design Engineers to join our semiconductor design team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in end-to-end Physical Design flow, timing closure, floorplanning, place & route, CTS, and signoff activities for advanced technology nodes.
The candidate will work closely with RTL, STA, DFT, and backend teams to ensure successful high-performance chip implementation and tape-out execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle complete Physical Design flow from netlist to GDSII
• Perform floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and physical verification
• Drive timing closure, congestion analysis, power optimization, and ECO implementation
• Work on STA analysis and timing signoff activities
• Perform IR drop, power, and signal integrity analysis
• Collaborate with frontend, DFT, STA, and signoff teams for design closure
• Debug and resolve physical design and timing issues
• Ensure successful tape-out delivery for advanced node designs
• Support automation and flow improvements using TCL/Perl/Shell scripting
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/ECE/VLSI or related field
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Physical Design
• Strong expertise in floorplanning, P&R, CTS, routing, and timing closure
• Experience with industry-standard EDA tools such as ICC2, Innovus, PrimeTime, Fusion Compiler, or Calibre
• Strong understanding of physical verification, STA, and low-power methodologies
• Experience working on advanced technology nodes
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
• Experience in high-performance SoC implementation
• Exposure to low-power and multi-voltage design methodologies
• Experience in scripting using TCL, Perl, or Shell
• Knowledge of signoff flows and advanced node challenges
