Role Overview
We are looking for a strong PHP/Laravel Developer with 7+ years of experience to join our engineering team. The role will focus on backend application development, REST API integrations, scalable system architecture, and end-to-end project delivery. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in PHP, Laravel Framework, MySQL, Git/version control, and client-facing project execution while managing small engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using PHP and Laravel Framework.
- Design, develop, and manage REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Manage MySQL databases including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Implement backend development best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
- Manage source code and deployment workflows using Git/version control systems.
- Build and support scalable applications, integrations, and cloud-based backend environments.
- Work directly with clients in US EST/PST time zones for requirement gathering, updates, and project coordination.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery including planning, execution, testing, deployment, and support.
- Lead and mentor a small team of 2–3 developers while ensuring timely delivery and code quality.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, API, and integration-related issues.
- Document technical solutions, architecture, APIs, and operational processes.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP backend development.
- Strong expertise in Laravel Framework.
- Strong experience with MySQL databases and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of backend development best practices and scalable application architecture.
- Experience working with Git/version control systems.
- Experience working on scalable applications, integrations, and cloud environments.
- Experience handling client communication and project delivery in US EST/PST time zones.
- Experience managing or mentoring small engineering teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, ownership, communication, and documentation skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms and deployment pipelines.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience working in startup or fast-paced product environments.
- Knowledge of application security, caching, and performance optimization techniques.
