Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a payroll professional with a strong data and process mindset to support and enhance our service delivery operations.
The ideal candidate is someone who not only delivers accurate payroll but also actively identify inefficiencies, improve workflows, and contribute to more efficient, structured, and technology-enabled ways of working.
1. Payroll Operations
Execute end-to-end payroll for multiple clients (monthly/weekly cycles)
Manage salary structures, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, and final settlements
Generate payslips, reports, and statutory outputs
Ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursement
2. Compliance & Statutory
Ensure compliance with Indian payroll regulations (PF, ESI, TDS, PT, LWF)
Prepare and file statutory returns accurately and on time
Coordinate with auditors, clients, and regulatory bodies
3. Data & Systems
Work with payroll systems, HRMS platforms, and related tools
Handle and validate large datasets using Excel and system reports
Perform data checks, reconciliation, and issue resolution
Ensure consistency of data across attendance, payroll, and finance systems
4. Process Improvement & Automation
Identify manual or inefficient steps in payroll processes and suggest improvements
Create and enhance templates, trackers, and structured workflows using Excel
Implement simple automation using available tools (e.g., Excel-based solutions)
Collaborate with internal teams, including AI & Automation teams, to scale improvements
5. Evolving Tools & Ways of Working
Be open to learning and using new tools, including automation and AI-enabled solutions
Bring ideas or prior experiences to improve team productivity and workflows
Support adoption of improved processes and tools within the team
6. Client Management
Coordinate with clients for payroll inputs and clarifications
Resolve payroll-related queries accurately and promptly
Maintain high standards of confidentiality and service quality
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Finance / IT or related field
2–5 years of hands-on payroll experience (mandatory)
Experience handling Indian payroll and statutory compliance
Knowledge & Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Indian payroll regulations, including PF, ESI, TDS, PT, and LWF
Experience managing end-to-end payroll for multiple clients
Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP; Power Query preferred)
Experience working with large datasets, including data validation and reconciliation
Hands-on experience with payroll systems or HRMS platforms
Strong process orientation with the ability to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
Ability to create structured templates and improve workflows using available tools (e.g., Excel)
Ability to clearly articulate issues and collaborate with internal teams to implement improvements
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Curiosity and willingness to learn and adopt new tools and ways of working
Exposure to automation tools or AI tools (e.g., Power Automate, macros, AI productivity tools) is strongly preferred
