Position Overview
This role sits within the company's retail technology practice, focused on delivering Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) solutions for global retail and fashion clients. The Senior Developer will own end-to-end technical delivery — from solution design and custom development to integrations and production support — directly influencing how clients manage merchandising, inventory, and supply chain operations at scale.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and customize Oracle RMS modules to meet complex retail business requirements across merchandising, inventory, and supply chain workflows
- Build and manage integrations between RMS and enterprise systems including POS, ERP, and WMS using SOA, REST/SOAP APIs, and Oracle Integration Cloud
- Translate functional requirements from business analysts and stakeholders into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across development and production environments
- Lead code reviews, enforce development standards, and drive technical best practices across the team
- Provide L2/L3 production support — diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within defined SLAs
- Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to team capability building within the Oracle Retail practice
Must Have Criteria
- 4–8 years of overall IT experience with 3+ years in a senior or lead Oracle RMS development role
- Hands-on expertise in Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) core modules — configuration, customisation, and extension
- Strong proficiency in PL/SQL with experience writing complex stored procedures, triggers, and performance-tuned queries on Oracle DB
- Proficiency in Oracle Forms & Reports and Java for RMS application development and customisation
- Demonstrated experience building integrations using SOA, REST/SOAP APIs, and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
- Solid understanding of retail domain processes: merchandising, assortment planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations
- Experience providing production support and troubleshooting in live Oracle Retail environments
Nice to Have
- Hands-on exposure to adjacent Oracle Retail applications: ReIM, RPM, RPAS, or SIM
- Experience in Oracle Retail cloud migration or on-premise to cloud modernization initiatives
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control)
- Prior client-facing experience in a consulting or system integrator environment serving global retail or fashion brands
