Role Description The Senior Optometrist cum Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This position involves conducting comprehensive eye examinations, prescribing lenses, and ensuring accurate optical dispensing for customers. The role includes overseeing day-to-day store operations, managing inventory, supervising team members, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The Senior Optometrist cum Store Manager will handle sales performance, ensure adherence to clinical and company protocols, train staff on products and eye care practices, and support local marketing or in-store promotional activities. The individual will also be responsible for resolving customer concerns promptly and maintaining a welcoming, professional environment in the store.
Qualifications
- Clinical optometry skills: proficiency in eye examinations, refraction, contact lens fitting, and interpretation of basic diagnostic tests.
- Retail and store management skills: experience in supervising staff, managing inventory, overseeing daily operations, and driving sales performance.
- Customer service and communication: strong interpersonal skills, ability to explain clinical findings clearly, and skill in building long-term customer relationships.
- Leadership and team development: capability to mentor, train, and motivate team members, and to foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Business and organizational skills: comfort with targets, basic data analysis, scheduling, reporting, and adherence to operational processes.
- Relevant education and experience: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Optometry (or equivalent), with prior experience in optical retail or clinical practice; senior-level or supervisory experience preferred.
- Additional beneficial qualifications: familiarity with optical retail software, knowledge of current eyewear trends and lens technologies, and fluency in local languages along with English.
