Senior Network Engineer – SD-WAN
Experience: 6–10 Years
Location: Chennai/Bangalore – India
Role Summary
The Senior Network Engineer – SD-WAN) is responsible for end-to-end delivery, optimization, and operational excellence of enterprise SD-WAN and core networking solutions. The role requires advanced hands-on expertise in SD-WAN technologies, strong routing and switching skills, and ownership of complex network environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, implementation, and support of Cisco or Versa SD-WAN solutions
- Provide advanced troubleshooting across SD-WAN overlay and underlay networks
- Design and support enterprise Routing & Switching environments
- Own critical incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive measures
- Drive network optimization, performance, and stability initiatives
- Support large-scale changes, migrations, and service rollouts
- Collaborate with customers, service providers, and cross-functional teams
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical upskilling
Mandatory Skills & Technology Requirements
- SD-WAN Technologies: Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) or Versa SD-WAN (mandatory)
- Routing & Switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP (expert level – mandatory)
- Cisco routing and switching platforms (mandatory)
- Enterprise WAN architecture and troubleshooting
Additional Skills & Knowledge
- Network security fundamentals (Firewalls, VPNs, ACLs)
- Traffic engineering and performance optimization
- WAN service provider coordination
- ITIL service management processes
Required Skills & Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in enterprise or service provider networking roles
- Proven hands-on expertise in SD-WAN and Routing & Switching
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills
- Ownership mindset with high delivery accountability
