Role Description The Senior Metrology Firmware Engineer is a full-time, on-site role located in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded firmware for metrology and measurement systems, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance. Day-to-day tasks include implementing features on ARM-based platforms, writing efficient and testable embedded software, and performing debugging, validation, and optimization of firmware and related hardware interfaces. The engineer will collaborate with electrical and software teams to define system requirements, integrate firmware with hardware components, and support root-cause analysis of field and production issues. The role also involves documenting designs, following best practices for version control and testing, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Embedded Software and Software Development skills, including experience with C/C++ and real-time systems.
- Candidates should possess deep knowledge of ARM Architecture and microcontroller-based system design.
- Candidates should possess advanced Debugging skills, including use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, particularly in mixed-signal, sensor interfaces, and hardware–firmware integration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with metrology, instrumentation, or precision measurement systems is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and structured development processes (e.g., Agile, unit testing, code reviews).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, manage multiple tasks, and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
