Role Overview
As a Senior Merchant, you will be primarily responsible for managing our buyers . You will manage the critical path from initial product development to final container loading. This role requires a rare blend of aesthetic sensibility for furniture and operational discipline for rigorous export timelines and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Sampling Coordination
From Concept to Prototype: Translate buyer mood boards and sketches into technical samples by working closely with factory artisans.
Material Innovation: Source and approve sustainable woods, metals, upholstry, and finishes that meet international durability standards.
Sample Tracking: Maintain a strict sampling calendar to ensure all prototypes reach international buyers for seasonal reviews on time.
2. Vendor & Factory Management
Strategic Sourcing: Identify and vet new vendors/workshops capable of scaling production without sacrificing the "handcrafted" quality.
Capacity Planning: Audit factory workloads to ensure our orders are prioritized and that production lines are optimized.
3. Production tracking
TNA Management: Create and monitor "Time & Action" (TNA) plans for every purchase order to prevent bottlenecks.
Quality Assurance (QA): Coordinate in-line, mid line and final inspections. You are the final gatekeeper for quality before goods leave the factory floor.
4. Buyer Communication
Account Management: Act as the primary point of contact for international buyers, providing proactive daily updates in professional English.
