Role Description The Senior Merchandiser is a full-time, on-site role based in Moradabad, responsible for managing product assortments and overseeing the end-to-end merchandising process for handcrafted home décor and tabletop collections.
This role involves coordinating with design, production, and sales teams to develop collections aligned with market trends, customer preferences, and brand standards.
The Senior Merchandiser will analyze sales data, monitor inventory levels, and plan orders to optimize stock, reduce obsolescence, and support revenue targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include vendor and client communication, preparing line sheets and presentations, managing samples, ensuring product quality and timely deliveries, and supporting participation in trade fairs and buyer meetings. The role also requires staying updated on global market trends and competitor activity to inform merchandising decisions and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- 5 Years+ experience in leading Merchandiser teams.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and global clients, and to present collections effectively.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to manage buyer relationships, respond to inquiries, and ensure a positive purchasing experience.
- Candidates should possess Sales and Retail skills to understand buyer behavior, support order negotiations, and contribute to sales planning and merchandising strategies.
- Candidates should possess Marketing skills to help position products, support catalog and trade fair presentations, and align assortments with brand and market requirements.
- Relevant experience in merchandising, product development, or buying within home décor, handicrafts, or related consumer goods sectors.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities to interpret sales reports, pricing, and margins, and to make data-informed merchandising decisions.
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and familiarity with inventory or ERP systems is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Moradabad, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced export environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Design, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
